Absolute Poker is one of the best options for USA players, with their rare combination of frequent bonuses, rakeback and strong selection of games. Absolute takes their players feedback seriously, and it seems they are always adding a new game here or tweaking a promotion there, to keep the site fresh and exciting.
Absolute recently added Razz, and they already have a great selection of Hold em, Stud, Omaha, and the typical no limit, pot limit and limit varieties. Absolute has plenty of tournament action, from large multi-table events to heads up sit n gos.
Currently at $2/$4 levels and below, you will encounter a large number of tight bonus clearing players. If you play higher limits you will see some of the same loose play that one would expect at a poker room whose prime time population is near 20,000.
No matter what limits you play, a good player can expect to turn a profit here.
Software has always been Absolute Pokers Achilles heel. In the beginning, it would slow down an older computer a good bit. Absolute has sought to address this over the past 3 years and the software runs smooth enough and quick enough now that it should not be an issue that keeps you away.
This is my personal favorite room to play. It is just hard to pass up the free money from bonus, rakeback and VIP programs that are available. With Absolutes recent purchase of Ultimate Bet, it will be interesting to see if the two rooms are merged to create a player base that would likely make AP one of the biggest and strongest online poker rooms around.
